Tina Nandi is a Sociology graduate turned freelance photographer and film maker. Having grown up in Zambia, finished school in a small hilly town in South India, Tina never thought she could learn love the chaos of Mumbai. However, after almost 6 years of living in the big metropolis with her architect husband and their 3 year old son, she now calls herself an urbanist and truly believes in the power of the placemaking approach to improve the lives of every Mumbaikar. Tina is also an environmentalist and tries everyday to inculcate a zero-waste lifestyle in her home.
In November 2018 Tina and Anca co-founded the non-profit organisation Love Your Parks Mumbai (LYPMumbai) with the vision that one day every Mumbaikar will have access to abundant, welcoming and user-friendly public open spaces. They aim to work towards this vision by catalysing community collaboration through stewardship, advocacy and creative use of public open spaces.
