Paula Gallo
Evergreen Education Specialist
Toronto
Paula manages Evergreen’s Professional Learning for Educators, working collaboratively with educators and organizations across Canada to explore innovative approaches to experiential learning with children and youth. Her work is supported and informed by the creative team she works with at Evergreen – play facilitators, landscape architects, indigenous programmers and community connectors. The whole crew collaborates to engage with school communities through an iterative process of Child Led Participatory Design, Nature Play and Outdoor Learning.
Paula began her journey exploring sustainable, inclusive and participatory communities as a classroom teacher in Scarborough, Ontario. A degree in urban planning, and then positions at UNICEF Canada and Save the Children allowed her to explore the possibilities and nuances of ‘child-friendly participation’ in a variety of contexts.
